In February 2022, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, fire destroyed the Ivankiv Historical and Local History Museum, which housed several of Maria Prymachenko's original works. This project focuses on establishing and restoring the Maria Prymachenko Museum to preserve and showcase the legacy of the renowned Ukrainian folk artist.

Reconstruction of the Ivankiv Museum of Histor y and Heritage, a key cultural institution preserving the artistic, historical, and ethnographic heritage of the Polissia region, including works by Maria Prymachenko, Hanna and Valentyna Veres. Commissioned by the Ivankiv municipality, the project aims to restore not only a museum damaged by war, but also a vital space for the local hromada. Beyond preser ving heritage and collective memor y, it will ser ve as a place of gathering, learning, and creative activity, with ateliers for children and residents. The reconstruction reinforces the museum as a living cultural hub at the heart of community life and resilience.

The architecture draws from the visual languages of local artists, including Maria Prymachenko,

translating their imagery, colour palettes, and connection to the landscape into spatial form, using Kyiv granite, Polissia wood and zinc panels inspired by naïve art motifs.
