On March 13th, 2022, Russian aircraft destroyed a school in the village of Zeleny Hai. Village leader Mykola Strutynskyi and school principal Oleksandr Hnedko died there. After the de-occupation, 90% of the residents returned to the village, but their children are forced to study online. The school building was the main educational and cultural center in the village, its reconstruction will give people confidence in the future.
It is hoped that this modular school with a shelter will become the blueprint of best practice and expertise, using use circular economy principles, such as transforming deconstruction waste into high-quality building materials. Furthermore, the school will become a center of social engagement and community regeneration.
